With the first year of the pandemic behind us, I wanted to focus on a more positive message. In this digital age we are overwhelmed by information that makes us feel powerless about the future. A negative image is quickly created about where we as humanity are headed. This can make us forget how beautiful and unique we are as a species and as individuals.
My graduation project is an enlargement of my interpretation of the world and how I deal with it myself.
RISE premiered in 2021 on Nederlands Film Festival and won the Filmfonds Wildcard. With the amount of €50 000, the winners get the chance to make a new documentary, fiction film or animated film with their own subject and their chosen cast and crew.
